Cuban Ambassador Alfredo Nieves Portuondo stressed that Che is a Latin American Hero and an example for every Revolutionary around the world. He has been and will always be one of the brightest minds, giving this homage a special meaning for the unity of the people in Latin America.
Nieves Portuondo denounced US aggressions in Latin America, the blockade on Cuba and the long and unjust prison sentences against the five Cuban anti-terrorists.
Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino and Rene Gonzalez were jailed in the United States from 1998 and given harsh sentences in 2001 in biased trial and hostile environment in Miami, Florida.
