Speaking during the annual debate on gender perspectives, Anayansi Rodríguez, ambassador to international agencies based in Geneva, condemned Washington’s refusal to grant visas to two of the wives of the Cuban anti-terrorists, which constitutes a form of violence against women and a violation of their rights.
"For many years, representatives of the civil society have come before the Council to denounce the incarceration of the Cuban patriots, unjustly sentenced for monitoring the actions of terrorist groups promoting acts of aggression against my country," the diplomat recalled.
The statement of the Cuban official coincides with the 15th anniversary of the unjust incarceration of the Five. During events marking the anniversary, the demand for the liberation of the anti-terrorist fighters has been voiced throughout the world.
