Fighting and working for life is essentially defending it from the powers of death, that historically have been stalked and lurking the peoples: imperialism and capitalism, which right from its origins walk shedding oppression, misery, hunger, wars and death, said the religious congregation.
In a document made public Thursday night during the presentation of a book by Fidel Castro Ruz called "Guerrilla of the Time ", Dimension de Fe renew its solidarity with Gerardo Hernandez, Ramón Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Rene Gonzalez.
"Fourteen years ago they suffered under the tyranny of the US empire, they are a clear example of evangelical dedication and love for the family and their land," the message says.
The text states that they had joined the claim of universal freedom for the Cuban Five, as they are known in the international campaigns for their release, and they do, "inspired by who was incarnated in humanity and was released in that poor child, and humble farmer who was born in Belen."
The presentation of the book was attended by, among others, the general secretary of the Communist Party of Argentina, Patricio Echegaray; the Ambassador of Cuba here, Jorge Lamadrid; Argentine political scientist Atilio Boron, and the pentecostal pastors of the Dimension de Fe Community Diego Mendieta and Gabriela Guerreros.
Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Fernando Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and René González were arrested on 12 September 1998 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in Miami, where they monitored the activities of terrorist organizations against Cuba.
Before the case was taken to the court, the terrorist were isolated in a punishment cell 17 months and then tried in Miami, environment that a federal court of appeal of that country or described as a perfect storm or prejudices that prevented a fair trial.
In May 2005, the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found that the deprivation of liberty of the Cuban Five was arbitrary and urged Washington to take the necessary measures to rectify this injustice.
