Havana, Cuba, Jan 5.- Dominican ecologists will demand the immediate release of the five Cuban antiterrorist, unjustly imprisoned in the US since 1998 for trying to prevent terrorist actions against Cuba, from the Pico Duarte, the highest mountain in the Antilles.

The ecologists announced on a press release that during the climbing, scheduled to end on January 6, they are developing sport activities such as volleyball, domino and softball; and they are also participating on a mountain aid course, reports the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry (www.cubaminrex.cu).

Many people have climbed high mountains to demand the release of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez –– internationally known as the Cuban Five.

Last year, three Argentineans pronounced against this injustice from the Aconcagua; some Ecuadorians climbed the Chimborazo and the Cayambe, in the Andes; and some Lebanese went up the highest peak in the Middle East, the Qornet el-Sawda.

In addition, many messages of solidarity with the case of the Cuban Five have been sent from Milesovka, in the Czech Republic, as well as from the Turquino Peak, in Cuba.
