June 18, 2014 - Hamilton's Rally for Palestine
Some 20 people took part in a rally called by Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War and sponsored by the Independent Jewish Voices and the Hamilton Palestinian Association, protesting the charity status of "The Jewish National Fund which owns a total of 13% of all land in Israel and partly controls 93%. Two of its most infamous projects are Canada Park near Jerusalem, which was built over the ruins of three Palestinian villages. The villagers were ethnically-cleansed in 1967, immediately following the Six Day War, and made to watch the destruction of their homes before being transported away. The other project is to ethnically cleanse some 70,000 Bedouin from their traditional homelands in the Negev(south). The displaced Bedouin are to be "concentrated" in five exclusively-Bedouin towns. Part of the latter project is to colonize the Negev with Jewish settlers. The recipient of this year's JNF is a Jewish town in the Negev called Mitzpe Ramon."
